Junior Prevention Plan - Give your child the best possible start in life
This programme for 0-16 year olds is an ideal way for children to get complete preventive dental care from an early age.

Children will continue to see their dentist twice a year for their six monthly dental health checks, but will now also have regular sessions with our oral health educator.

These sessions will include specific preventive instructions tailored to each child and high fluoride varnish application sessions to help reduce the need for costly and complex dental treatment in the future.

We want our junior patients at the practice to enjoy their experience of going to the dentist and learn the skills and knowledge to keep them dentally fit for the rest of their lives.

Your child will receive continuous preventive dental care which will hopefully ensure their mouths are healthy and decay free but if they do need treatment this is covered by the plan. Included in the plan are:

• Two visits to the dentist for your usual dental health check
• 2-4 visits to the oral health educator per year
• Fluoride varnish applications to protect teeth
• All clinically required treatment including fillings and extractions

Student plan - 16-21 years
This plan helps young adults to continue the good habits leaned previously as children into adulthood.

The plan covers 2 dental health checks ensuring we are able to:

• Look for evidence of new decay
• Discuss whether there are any areas of sensitivity and discomfort
• Examine for signs of gum disease and gingivitis
• Undertake routine intra-oral x-rays where clinically indicated
• Undertake tooth cleaning as and when needed

Your Plan also covers 2 Oral Health Educator visits when we will:

• Discuss and advise on dental hygiene and brushing technique
• Discuss and provide specific dietary advice to suit your child
• Provide protective fluoride varnish applications if required
